MAI-HAJJ, a non-governmental organisation has commended the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) for extending the period of registration to the end of April, 2018.

National Public Relation Office, MAI-HAJ, Muhammadu Kabir Yusuf, said the decision by the commission to extend the period would give intending pilgrims mostly farmers an opportunity to sell their products and make payment of 2018 Hajj fare before the new deadline of 30th of April 2018

While the Commission would use the extension to conclude further process for the announcement of 2018 Hajj fare, MAI-HAJJ is appealing to all intending pilgrims to take advantage of the grace period to register and pay the deposit before the announcement of the actual 2018 Hajj package.

MAI-HAJJ joined hands with NAHCON in appreciating the efforts of some State Pilgrims Welfare Boards/Agencies and Commissions for mobilizing the prospective intending pilgrims to register adding that doing so would lead to successful preparations.

As NAHCON made it clear to the intending pilgrims that no more extension after this, the Media Awareness Initiative for Hajj (MAI-HAJJ) urges anybody wishing to perform Hajj this year to register before the stipulated new deadline.
