Firms reach out-of-court settlement

Leading marketing communications organisations reached an amicable resolution of longstanding dispute, as a Lagos High Court enters the settlement agreement of the parties as consent judgment and effectively brings the matter to a closure.

Leading marketing communications organisations reached an amicable resolution of longstanding dispute, as a Lagos High Court enters the settlement agreement of the parties as consent judgment and effectively brings the matter to a closure. Prima Garnet Communications Limited and Ogilvy and Mather Africa BV have announced that they have reached an amicable settlement over a previous affiliation dispute.

The settlement follows an application to the High Court of Lagos State by Ogilvy and Mather Africa BV and which was confirmed by Prima Garnet Communications Limited to seek a settlement agreement on an affiliation dispute, which was under litigation for several years.

During the hearing of the matter on December 15, 2017 and following the application, the Honorable Justice L.A.F. Oluyemi of High Court of Lagos State entered the terms of settlement dated December 14, 2017, (which was duly executed by the parties and their respective counsel) as the Consent Judgment of the court in the matter and which therefore brings the matter to a closure.

Spokespersons for the parties announced that they “have had mutually beneficial discussions and the outcome is an amicable resolution of the dispute and the Consent Judgment. This development allows both parties to put an end to the matter, as we continue to contribute to the growth of the Nigerian advertising landscape.”
