Nexus Home Appliances brand, a subsidiary of Deekay group, last week inaugurated a new consumer engagement campaign ‘The Nexus Kitchen Cook Out with Uriel’ that will give consumers the opportunity to experience the products in use. Unveiling former Brother Naija housemate, Uriel Oputa, as its brand ambassador, the company also launched a new website aimed at engaging consumers across Nigeria.

The show will kick off in Port Harcourt on July 8 and will run through to the end of August with visits to four other cities – Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan and Enugu. The cook out initiative, according to Marketing Manager, Deekay Group, Mrs. Margaret Mary Okwudarue, is aimed at bringing consumers closer to the Nexus brand during the tour.

While speaking on the launch of the new website, Okwudarue said in an era of recession, where consumers’ purchasing power has gone down, the firm deems it fit to offer quality products on home and kitchen appliances at affordable prices, and give consumers value for money. “The massive push of such initiative in form of digital communications would give consumers more access to its amazing product offering,” she added.

On the consumer engagement campaign, Okwudarue said, “It will also give our consumers the opportunity to experience our products and see how they look and feel like. They will also understand the products from the unique selling point of each product and see the varieties we offer.”

On the partnership with Oputa, she said the company’s goal was to get into the lives of young and confident women that have passion for cooking. Also, the Business Development Manager, Sachin Gupta, said despite the economic situation in the country, the company would not compromise the quality of its products, adding, “Nexus is synonymous with durability, style and value for money. Our idea for making it affordable for the consumer is that we source the same product the ‘A’ brands are sourcing with up to 95 per cent of similar specks and make it most affordable for the Nigerian market. We give the quality without losing the focus on affordability by any means; doing the local assembly and keeping cost under control.”

Participants in the cooking exercise would be selected through the social media pages of Ms. Uriel and Nexus to be part of the live audience. In her response, Uriel Oputa said the kitchen cook out tour would also give opportunities to Nigerian women to learn healthy cooking tips and witness innovative cooking with kitchen appliances from Nexus.
