A group, the Ondo Liberation Movement has condemned the All Progressives Congress (APC), for marginalising the state in the list of ambassadors-designate.

The group’s coordinator, Mr. Oladipo Ajidahun said in a statement in Akure, that Ondo has nothing to show for supporting the APC in the 2015 general election.

Ajidahun said it was unfair for President Muhammadu Buhari to nominate Mr. Sola Iji as the only representative, despite the state’s massive contributions to the enthronement of the APC at the federal level.

It threatened to vote against it and its offshoot, the Alliance for Democracy (AD) in the upcoming governorship elections if nothing is done to reverse the situation.

Ajidahun alleged that some states where the APC lost in the last presidential election were unduly favoured with four nominees.According to him, it is difficult to justify how the Federal Government is now marginalising Ondo State where the party had over 65 per cent at the election.

He explained: “The president gave three ambassadorial slots to Cross River State where the party had only two per cent of the total votes cast. He allocated four slots each to his home state, Katsina and Borno, which produced the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

“Also, Rivers State where the party performed woefully got three slots. So far, Ondo has been given three appointments in the Buhari-led APC government.”

He listed the appointments to include a Minister of State in the ministry of Niger Delta, a member of the Niger Delta Development Commission and now, the single ambassadorial slot.
