Why I stopped  going to Abuja, by Wike

By Ann Godwin, PortHarcourt   |   03 February 2017   |   5:55 am

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has explained that he stopped going to Abuja in the last four months due to the ‘excessive prevalence of lies’ at the Federal Capital.

Speaking while flagging-off the second phase of the reconstruction of Port Harcourt township roads, the governor said,  “The Federal Capital Capital has been enmeshed in political falsehood and deception, which negatively impacts on development.”

According to him, “I have not travelled to Abuja for more than four months because it is a centre of lies. Let them continue to lie in Abuja.“As they suffer economic downturn in Abuja, we shall continue to make progress in Rivers. They lie too much in Abuja, so there is no reason to listen to them. Here, we make promises and we keep to our promises.”

The governor also explained that the second phase of the reconstruction/rehabilitation of Port Harcourt township roads would enhance the economy of the densely populated areas.

He noted that his administration contracted Julius Berger Construction Company for the second phase of the project because it believes there is need for durable jobs in the suburbs.

The governor urged the contractor to employ youths from the state capital to be involved as they execute the project. “I am doing this for the township because you people stood by me all through the electioneering period.  This is a symbiotic relationship,” he said.

  • bayo bejide

and you are a product of abuja lies, Mr Wike

    • Osanebi Osakuni

The biggest comedy is that you and I live in the only country in the world whose citizens neither have any ideas of the whereabouts of their president nor his living status (alive or partially dead) all because of the lies the governor has stated.. Blind political follower-ship has limits

      • Folabi Akin

Either somebody is paying you to be talking all this nonsense online or you have a deep, unadulterated hatred for the president. When Sunday comes now, you will wear suit and say you’re going to worship God. I’m sorry for you. Continue to peddle lies without any shred of evidence online, you hear? Soon, you’ll start wondering why God doesn’t answer your prayers.

        • Osanebi Osakuni

Hahahahaha! What lies have I posted? The last I have about Buhari was a picture of him and Amosun in London taken during this controversial journey. On those pictures, Buhari was wearing exactly the same attire he wore when Atiku visited him in London the last time he travelled. The issue is about ‘lying in Abuja’. You can be fooled as a blind political follower but I live in an informed world. It isn’t about death. That is the difference. Sorry!

  • Wole

This man has reduced leadership to comedy

    • Osanebi Osakuni

The biggest comedy is that you and I live in the only country in the world whose citizens neither have any ideas of the whereabouts of their president nor his living status (alive or partially dead) all because of the lies the governor has stated.. Blind political follower-ship has destroyed the psychic of many Nigerians.

      • Wole

I disagree with you on that, because they actually told the nation that the president is going to UK on medical vacation which tells you that, he is either sick or going for a check-up, or review of previous treatment he had received. Don’t forget that he is also human being and we all fall sick from time to time. While he is away, there is an acting president in line with the constitution. So what is the lie here and what is missing?

        • Osanebi Osakuni

When a president is rumoured to have died the only option available to a truthful government is for the president to reach out to the citizens rather boasting of have the right to refuse addressing the anxious citizens. Only a lying government posts fake pictures on web news pages as we have seen of Buhari in the past days. Very shameful!

          • Wole

Rumor mongers are jobless people and they are confusionist. No serious minded person will reduce himself to the level of addressing rumor mongers. The question to them is that who confirmed to them that the president is dead? Has the office spokesman of the Federal government not responded to the nation officially? It is actually ridiculous to expect a president to start addressing rumors.

          • Osanebi Osakuni

What is rumour? The fake picture of Governor Amosu with Buhari as was published on Vanguard newspaper was a rumour? Buhari in that picture was wearing the same clothes and cap he wore when Atiku visited him in London the last time he was there. What can be more disgraceful than that. A real shameless set of people. Despicable to say the least

          • Wole

So in your mind, you have concluded that the President is dead. Right?

          • Osanebi Osakuni

No, certainly no but the subject is about lying by the presidency and not what I believe. Am surprised you aren’t disturbed by such a shameful act coming from an exalted office like presidency. Definitely, a lot isn’t right

          • Wole

You are the one who brought in the issue of president death as one of those lies from Abuja. And I put it to you then, that the minister of information said the president is only on a sick leave to UK. The question to you is this: Is what the minister said a lie? If your answer is yes as you have alluded, it then means that the president is dead. You cannot be dead and at the same time, you are alive. I really don’t see why you cannot come out straight on this Chief Osakuni

          • Osanebi Osakuni

You are even lying with the records in your own very hands. I stated and repeat: Nigeria is the only country in the world whose citizens do not know the life status of their president. The last we’ve heard after death rumour was that he was hale and hearty. Yet they released his current photographs taken with Amosun. The president’s image was exactly the same image that appeared when he hosted Atiku during his earlier trip earlier. That is an obvious lie. You are fruitlessly weaving in statements from his staff over a specific event. Shameful!

          • Austinagon

are you disappointed that he was not dead? lol

          • Osanebi Osakuni

Do you have a proof of Buhari’s status apart from the fake photographs? Why not wait till on Sunday if you aren’t surprised that the president of over 170 Million people is in obscurity? Am driving a practical issue and not blind politics. Laughable!

      • Owen

really, are you sure of what your saying? please give a break, lets not mix things with politics .The President has right right for vacation or medical vacation in as as much he has done the needful by transmitting a letter to the senate that he will be proceeding on a 10 days vacation and most importantly handling over to the vice president, i don’t think Nigerians has problem with that

        • Osanebi Osakuni

Dear, I never referred to power hand over but specifically a fake photograph of Buhari and Amosu that was published on Vanguard Newspaper as though nothing was wrong. That is the lie I have continued to emphasize on this subject

          • Austinagon

how did you know the photograph taken with AMOSUN and co was untrue? what are your proof?

          • Osanebi Osakuni

Buhari’s attire on that photograph was exactly what he wore when Atiku visited him the last time he travelled. That photograph with Atiku was immediately released to the world. Indeed, Lai Mohammed earlier released a statement that governors were not going to see Buhari because it was not necessary. There was no records of Amosun going out of Nigeria or even coming back assuming he sneaked out.

    • Walker_hd752abc

      You are mentally retarded.

      • Wole

You are mentally deranged, Wike’s dog!

    • iwe paul

I wonder who is not a comedian in our leadership today in Nigeria. WIKE is not different from all the charlatans and rustic simpletons masquerading as leaders all over our beloved country. you remember “constituted authority” video? AJIMOBI? What is a better comedy spectacle? And it cuts across all parties, strata of society and ethnic groups right into Buhari”s cabinet. In fact, Buhari”s cabinet is the biggest comedy show of them all. We are not foooooled!!! And cannot be mocked.

  • Osanebi Osakuni

It is only in a lying country that the where about of a president is not known to a citizens of over 170 million. Only a lying government can conceal the life status of a president to the extent that the citizens do not know whether their president is alive, healthy or incapacitated. Sickening!

    • Wole

      ..

    • Omoakin

When the man resumes for work on Monday, we go see the next foolish story wey una go begin with again.

As a wise man said earlier on this thread, if una no like PMB, simply organize yourselves to beat him and his party in 2019. All these stupid noises will never go beyond social media.

      • Osanebi Osakuni

The issue isn’t about wether Buhari resumes or not but the lies associated with him and his government.

      • Osanebi Osakuni

Braking news: Buhari fails to comeback. He claimed in a ‘letter’ that his doctor advised him to stay back and complete his medical tests. Wayo! That man has been crushed by blood of innocent people killed for cow to access grassland.

  • Benny agafa

Abuja is too hot for you. You are the product of lies from Abuja due to the seed that was sow by you at Abuja.

  • Walker_hd752abc
  • Owen

am really sorry for some of you that supports Wike every time he rants, this man lies always,

  • Owen

what is wrong with the going of a vacation or medical vacation? why is it necessary for him to speak to Nigerians from his vacation concerning some lies from some job seekers., Look my brothers the beauty of democracy is that if you don’t like this man come 2019 just vote him out but remember no country on the face of this planet will ever make in corruption as it is in Nigeria.

  • Ify Onabu

Please add that there is also the risk of assassination. Abuja, under the Mullah in Aso Rock, cannot guarantee the safety of a serving Governor. Shame of a nation!

  • Ezekiel Okeke

He will be the interim president of Republic Of Biafra if Jonathan hesitate to serve. Eastern region existence and future is in eastern region under Republic Of Biafra now in existence, not in Abuja. There is nothing in Abuja to look for as far as eastern region of Republic Of Biafra now in existence is concerned.
