PZTwo Nigerian journalists have emerged winners of an all-expense paid trip to watch a live match involving Manchester City Football Club. The two journalists, Kazeem Busari of Punch and Sunny Oke Oluke of SportsDay were among the four winners who won an all-expense paid trip to Manchester City, as PZ Cussons last week unveiled a three year partnership between Manchester City Football Club and three of its products, Premier Cool, Olympic and Robb. Four other journalists also won one-month free product supply.

Head of Marketing, Family Care Category, Mr Jimi Taiwo said that the partnership with Manchester City Football Club was borne out of giving back to its customers with the aim of building better affinity with the brand. He urged Nigerians to participate by being a player and not sit on the fence by being a spectator.

The Managing Director of PZ Cussons, Mr Alex Goma, said that the partnership would create opportunity to excite fans more and build amazing relationships with its consumers and customers. “These brands stand for what it takes to play in football and life generally: Premier Cool is about freshness, Robb is about fitness and Olympic is about healthy nutrition choices.”

He further said that staying fresh, fit and health are key values its customers and consumers want and together with Man City’s commitment to empowering its customers through participation and connecting a global community of fans offers an opportunity to give the consumers amazing experiences which entail autographed branded memorabilia.

Goma said the partnership will strengthen the relationship with the consumer and customers by offering them an array of money cannot buy experiences, arguing that there is a great fit between both brands in terms of passion, heritage, values and a desire to win. “This we hope to leverage on in creating great brand experiences for both customers and fans.”

He said that there are quite a number of activities for the three year partnership as there will be give-away like jerseys and opportunity for consumers, retailers and trade partners to watch live matches. According to him, there are also plans to bring Man City to Nigeria to help communities because one of its core values is helping communities. “All these, we would unveil as we go through the year. It is a commercial conversation that will deliver value to the consumers.”
