Senator wants northerners to apply for 500, 000 teaching jobs
Senator representing Bauchi South, Malam Ali Wakili has called on graduates from the North to apply for the 500, 000 federal government teaching jobs that are up for grabs, and which submission of applications have commenced nationwide.
Wakili, who is also Chairman, Senate Committee on Poverty Alleviation and Social Welfare, spoke while rewarding his supporters, All Progresive Congress (APC) official and party supporters, where charged them not to be outsmarted by their southern counterparts.
The committee chairman also donated cartons of herbicides and sprayers to rice and maize farmers randomly selected from the seven local council areas that make up of his constituency.
He said although the teachers would be paid a token amount of N23, 000 each monthly, the job would go a long way in mitigating graduates’ unemployment, redundancy and acquaint the youths with civil service experience such that they could be productive in their future careers.
Apart from that, the senator disclosed that the Federal Government has also earmarked the sum of N500 billion for poverty alleviation programme that target youths and market women calling on indigenes of the state to form cooperative societies and open banks accounts in order to benefit from the gesture.
While pledging to continue rewarding his constituents, he added anybody that has facilitated and remain an active member of the APC in the state would be rewarded in due season.
Responding on behalf of the youth organisations Alhaji Musa Gwangwan thanked Wakili for remembering them and coming to their aid.
He said apart from the true representation and his quality contribution in the Senate, Senator Wakili has proven to be a man of his words.

Always bringing regionalism into every matter. As the chairman of senate committee on poverty alleviation, you should call on all unemployed Nigerians who are graduates to apply for the job and not just northerners. This is why Nigeria will never be a nation.
