StarTimes, the digital TV network company, launched its Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) platform in Daura, Katsina State. The unveiling of DTT decoder was remarkable to the people of Daura as NTA StarTimes brought its network to the city.

Representative of Director General of NTA, Mr. Maxwell Loko, in his remark, said, NTA/StarTimes was present in about 80 cities in Nigeria and Daura, being the cradle of the Hausa state, is not left.

The people of Daura are expected to enjoy digital life with little money, as they can watch beautiful television content that will educate and entertain them under different TV stations, especially NTA Hausa, Farin Wata TV, Dadin Kowa, Liberty TV and so many other TV Channels.

A cultural display and drama presentation was part of the welcome event. Comedian, Mr. MC Tagwaye added colour to the event when he imitated President Muhammad Buhari in character, attitude and voice, and delivering a speech disguised as the president and urging the people of Daura to patronise StarTimes, stressing its affordability and quality.

StarTimes’ model television is easy to install and watch, the network is now moving from the urban centres to the rural areas so as to sustain the consumers’ enjoyment of digital entertainment. He concluded.

The representative of National Broadcasting Comission (NBC), Mohammad Alhaji Nanu, expressed happiness at the coming of StarTimes to Daura. Nanu said the initiative would enable the people to have the chance to be part of global entertainment and news.
