Jesus did not only forgive those that sinned against Him, He made it a condition for our prayer to be answered (Mark 11:23-26)†ìTruly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ëBe taken up and cast into the sea,í and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against any one; so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.

Real strength comes through Godís weakness. For instance, in Jesusí crucifixion and resurrection, He conquered all the powers of evil and death. It was in this greatest act of self-sacrifice and weakness the greatest victory was won. In the same vein, you can draw your strength from forgiving your offenders. II Corinth. 12:9†ìBut he said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.î I will all the more gladly boast of my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

It is important we remember that the devil is still in the business of causing chaotic situation by stirring people against themselves. He often stirs couple against each other and causes serious disputes among friends. He will turn around to suggest that they shouldnít forgive each other. When you are offended and you forgive your offender, you donít plan or seek for his or her downfall. You donít wait for opportunity to revenge. Many think that forgiveness is foolishness. Though your offender may think you are a fool, he may even call you one, but the God in heaven knows you are wisely securing your destiny. Some husbands have vowed not to forgive their wives, who cheated on them, ditto some wives. Some children have vowed not to forgive their parents that kept them in a corner because they were born out of wedlock. No matter the depth of the wound that someone has inflicted on you by his or her offence, there is enough grace from God to forgive such individual. Husband forgive your wife, wife forgive your husband, and let children forgive their parents. This Godís word is sent to heal you and deliver you from destruction, as a result of unforgiving spirit.
