Beibei Haven Foundation, a non-governmental Organization (NGO) driven by its mandate to support women and/or couples through their journey from trying to conceive to parenthood, recently organize a week-long awareness to sensitize women on how to deal with pregnancy and baby loss.

Tagged “National Pregnancy and Baby Loss Awareness Week,” the series of events to mark the week was held from the 9th till 15th of October 2016.

“The week was for bereaved parents, family members, friends and organizations to reflect on the alltoobrief lives of babies lost in pregnancy, during or after birth”, said Beibei Haven in a statement.

“It also provided a crucial opportunity for people to talk openly about this subject and raise awareness.”The organization said the focus of the week was to reach out to as many women as possible that have gone through this loss.

“We wanted to support them in the little way we can and to let them know that they are not alone. So many women grieve in silence not coming to terms with their loss.

“We educated and encouraged them on how to manage the situation through the assistance of medical practitioners and women who have gone through a similar journey.”
