Is a charismatic speaker, a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, who has been practicing medicine for over 15 years.

She graduated from the University of Toronto with an honors degree in Psychology, before attending the prestigious University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia.

After receiving her MD, Dr. Sam completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, PA., before relocating to South Florida in 2002. She has since founded Elite Obstetrics and Gynecology, a boutique concept private practice committed to providing exceptional healthcare to discerning women who want uncompromised medical services.

Clinically, Dr. Sam has distinguished herself as a top specialist in laparoscopic minimally invasive surgery. Literally, on the cutting edge of the most advanced medical technology, in 2007 Dr. Sam performed the first-ever robotic assisted total laparoscopic hysterectomy in Palm Beach County. She is the Director of Gynecologic Robotic Surgery at the West Boca Medical Center and the Director of Women’s Health Services at Florida Medical Center.

Dr. Sam is an active member of numerous associations including the American Medical Association, the American Medical Women’s Association, the Broward County Medical Association, and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. Moreover, as a dedicated proponent of women’s health, Dr. Sam has been the recipient of numerous grants, awards and honors for her philanthropic work and medical research. Most recently she was recognized in April 2014 as one of S. Florida’s 50 most Powerful and Influential Black Professionals.

Last but not least, in addition to her busy professional schedule, Dr. Sam regularly volunteers her time serving on Boards and as Chairperson for numerous community organizations that have included YMCA of Broward, the Jim and Jan Moran’s Boys & Girls Club, the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women movement, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Cycle for Life, and Women In Distress’ Starfish Circle, in addition to creating her own Elite Women’s Foundation in 2009.

Dr. Sam loves reading, playing soccer, world travel and is an avid triathlete having competed in over twenty triathlons, ten five K races and two half marathons, since her first season in 2010.
