Goal Setting Techniques that Work: Do you feel as if you are adrift in the world? You work hard, but you don’t seem to get anywhere worthwhile. Have you thought about what you want to be doing in five years’ time? Are you clear about what your main purpose in work and business is at the moment? Do you know what you want to have achieved by the end of today? What is the role of visualizing in your quest for excellence and attainment of that dream?

If you want to succeed, you need to set goals. Without goals you lack focus and direction. Goal setting not only allows you to take control of your life’s direction; it also provides you a benchmark for determining whether you are actually succeeding. To accomplish your goals, however, you need to know how to set them. You can’t simply say, “I want” and expect it to happen. Goal setting is a process that starts with careful consideration of what you want to achieve, and ends with a lot of hard work to actually do it.

In between there are some very well defined steps that transcend the specifics of each goal. Knowing these steps will allow you to formulate goals that you can accomplish. Join Hajara Pitan on Saturday, August 6th as she shares with us, real life examples of her journey , of how she decided to live fully by being deliberate in her actions.

Intellectual Property: The Intangible Business Asset: For many businesses, intellectual property protects more than just an idea or a concept – it protects genuine business assets that may be integral to the core services of the business and overall long-term viability. Intellectual property can consist of many different areas, from logos and corporate identity through to products, services and processes that differentiate your business offering. It’s when these ideas are used without permission that an organisation can suffer.

Almost all businesses have undoubtedly benefited from the internet, where products, services and marketing communications can reach vast audiences at relatively low costs – but this has also increased the chances of intellectual property theft. Companies of all sizes are at risk of having their unique ideas, products or services infringed upon, even if they are on the other side of the world, making intellectual property protection more important than ever.

Talking Business at the Table; the Art of the Business Meal: The savvy professional and business woman, knows the importance of strong dining skills and it should come as no surprise that dining, unless done well, could be disastrous to your reputation. How you conduct yourself at the table, under pressure with a mouthful of food, can either positively or negatively influence a business or professional decision. The key is to know what to do before the uncomfortable moment presents itself. A successful business meal requires skills and thoughtful planning.
