Leading Ladies Africa hosts female beauty entrepreneurs for the makeup edition of the Power Talk Series

Aspiring makeup artists and beauty enthusiasts gathered together for the third edition of The Power Talk Series, which took place on Sunday 11th December, at The Best Western Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Aspiring makeup artists and beauty enthusiasts gathered together for the third edition of The Power Talk Series, which took place on Sunday 11th December, at The Best Western Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos. The event which was themed: “Building a Successful Makeup Brand” focused mainly on what is required to launch and run a successful makeup brand.

The Power Talk Series is a quarterly event hosted by Leading Ladies Africa, where women from different backgrounds have the opportunity to learn, be inspired, and connect with one another.

The quarterly event hosted by Leading Ladies Africa presented an opportunity for women to learn about building a makeup brand that stands out from the leading makeup artists in Nigeria.

The event featured two panel discussions where the attendees had the opportunity to understand the intricacies of launching a successful make up brand. The first panel session which featured Theodora Mogo, CEO Doranne Beauty, Lillian Paul, Founder, Flare Beauty and Brand Ambassador, Black Opal Nigeria; and Lola Maja-Okojevoh, CEO, Sacred Beauty was enlightening as the leading makeup artists shared in detail their journey into makeup artistry and the secrets behind their success.

The second panel session which featured Bimpe Onakoya, Founder, Elite Makeup Pro and Artistic Director, Maybelline New York, Omolola Faleye, Creative Director Pops Concepts and Mary-Jane Ohubu, General Manager, Zaron Cosmetics Limited, explored the avenues through which local makeup brands can begin to get international recognition. Both panel sessions were followed with an interactive Q&A session with event attendees.

“One of our objectives at Leading Ladies Africa is to equip women with relevant skills and provide them with the information and resources they need to succeed in whatever industry they find themselves in,” says Francesca Uriri, Founder of Non-Profit, Leading Ladies Africa. “Through The Power Talk Series, we create avenue for women to engage with seasoned experts and learn from their wealth of knowledge and experience,” she added.
