As part of its mandate to deliver fashionable African prints to fashion lovers, Vlisco, manufacturers of premium Dutch wax fabrics has joined the rest of the world in celebration of the International Women’s Day.

The celebration, which held at its store in Ikeja City Mall, witnessed fashion designers, fashions lovers and icons share and network with one another over drinks and cup cakes.

The Marketing Manager Vlisco Nigeria, Mrs. Adaeze Alilonu said, “it is Mother’s Day, so we think that since this is our first store, it is right for us to start from here. We are not only celebrating women because its Mother’s day, we also want to thank them for patronizing us in Vlisco store in Ikeja City Mall and to kick-start our campaign for the women’s month. Having been in this mall since October last year, the patronage has been interesting. We have had a mixture of young and old customers and business has been interesting.”

She added: “We manufacture African prints and it is an awareness that is growing in Nigeria. Most women use our fabrics more often and they use it for a diverse kind of reasons -corporate, causal and for different occasions. We also have different programmes targeted at women- we train women on tailoring skills, and most importantly, this year we are working on training and empowering fashion writers.
