Nigeria and  Africa’s first ever women commercial radio station WFM 97.1 today announced that the second edition of the annual WFM Voice of Women (VOW) Conference and Awards 2016 will hold on Friday, 9th December by 10 a.m. prompt at the the Eko Hotel & Suites.

WFM 97.1 partners with Bank of Industry, Eko Electricity Distribution Company & Cellulant to deliver this year’s event that will be chaired by Mrs. Folorunso Alakija the executive vice chairman of Famfa Oil Limited Special Guest of Honour is Wife of the President Mrs Aisha Buhari. Other guests include, Chief Mrs Erelu Fayemi Co- Founder African Women Development & Dr Zainab Shinkafi Bagudu. Speakers include Mrs Sola David-Borha Chief Executive Stanbic IBTC, Mr Waheed Olagunju Ag. MD Bank of Industry, Funke Akindele a.k.a Jenifa, Mr Bolaji Akinboro CEO Cellulant,  Mr Richard Mofe-Damijo & Joke Silva.

Awards will be given to deserving individuals and organizations who have advanced the cause of women in the following categories; Best Gender Empowering Company, Best Female in Business/Management, Best Family Focused Organization, Best Woman/Person/Organization of the Year, Lifetime Achievement Award, Best Government Organization/Agency Supporting Women and Their Families and the Best Civil Society Organization Supporting Women and Their Families.

The nominees for each of these categories have been carefully chosen from a select pool of highly distinguished and cerebral Nigerians and organizations who have made their mark(s) in their individual endeavors in the year gone past. The award seeks to recognize the awardees and their achievements which will thus propel them for greater exploits.

The theme for this year’s event is FACING OUR FUTURE – TOGETHER and will focus on FATE – Finance, Agriculture, Technology and Entertainment. The conference will be succeeded by an award and dinner to recognize organizations and individuals who have been voices to the causes of women development in Nigeria.

WFM 91.7 is Nigeria’s first & only women radio station. It was launched on December 17, 2015 and designed to cater for women and their families and engages on issues of local, national and international importance to everyone.
