Did You Know You Can Detox Your Armpit?
This is not a joke. Your antiperspirant may be the reason you have body odour.
Most over-the-counter antiperspirants contain aluminium which causes cancer and endocrine disruptors which are a major cause of hormone imbalance and infertility. A recent research carried out in the US reveals that antiperspirants are linked to breast cancer. Besides, antiperspirants might as well be the reason your allergies are triggered.
And as if that is not enough, the 24-hour protection written on the antiperspirant is just an indication that it reduces sweat by 20% while antiperspirants with extra strength reduce by 30%. It becomes worse knowing that certain meals we consume coupled with alcohol can trigger this odour and this is not even the bad part.
When you stop using them, the armpit bacteria is somewhat replaced by an increased amount of Actinobacteria (a horrible smelling bacteria) which the antiperspirant had triggered.
See why armpit detox is becoming popular by the day?
Although there is no proof that it totally eliminates body odour, there is an ongoing hot debate that armpit detox can get rid of the build-up toxins caused by antiperspirants and make you feel fresh and clean.
And you only need two ingredients: 1 tablespoon of bentonite clay and 1 teaspoon of raw apple cider vinegar (some like to dilute their vinegar with water) or coconut oil. Mix so that it becomes a paste. Spread on your armpit for 15 minutes, allow to dry and wash off.
This detox will remove toxins, increases your blood circulation around your armpit and boost your immune system.
You might not see the result in one day so you need to continue until you get rid of your armpit odour.
Also, ensure you stay hydrated and look for a natural deodorant containing herbs like basil, mint and rosemary or better still, go without a deodorant.
