You can put your security paranoia to rest now. An app that monitors and captures who is invading your personal space has been launched.

Edward Snowden, former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) employee, and developer of the app, Haven, explained that the app takes a record of everything using sensors and is triggered by sound, light, motion, and volume.

According to the Freedom Of The Press, a board in which Edward is president,

“Haven detects changes in the environment using the sensors in a typical smartphone—the camera, microphone, gyroscope, accelerometer, ambient light, USB power—to alert you if anyone enters your space or attempts to tamper with your devices while you aren’t there”

Haven does not need to be installed on your main phone. You can install it on a phone you are about to throw away and leave it in the place you want to monitor. It uses encrypted services like Signal and Tor to send signals to
the main phone when it detects anything.

According to Edward, the app is useful “as a tool for investigative journalists, human-rights defenders, and people at risk” to detect kidnappers.

The app is available for Android phones.
