As we get closer to the end of the year, Lagos tends to get quite busy as events start piling up! This month, there are lots of exciting events to attend from festivals to cocktail parties to fashion week, there's something for everyone. So if you're looking to have some fun, here's our event schedule…

As we get closer to the end of the year, Lagos tends to get quite busy as events start piling up! This month, there are lots of exciting events to attend from festivals to cocktail parties to fashion week, there’s something for everyone. So if you’re looking to have some fun, here’s our event schedule to keep you out and about.

Felabration: October 13

Located at the New Afrika Shrine, Adeleye Street, Ikeja, Lagos. Felabration is an afrobeat music festival. Fela died on 2nd of August 1997 and was mourned by Nigerians all over the world, with over a million people attending his funeral. 20 years later, the festival, which is about a week-long is a tribute and celebration of the great performer. The line-up usually features Fela’s children who perform some of his greatest hits as well as other top artists.

Lagos Cocktail Week: October 16-21

This event is a celebration of the cocktail culture in Lagos. If you’re an alcohol lover, then this event is perfect for you, as you can learn a thing or two from the cocktail seminars and of course get your buzz on. This year, “The Barhop” has been introduced, which includes selected bars in Lagos who will create signature cocktails for the Lagos Cocktail Week barhop. International Festival of Contemporary Dance (IFCOD): October 21-23

This event is scheduled to take place at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos. The event lasts for three days, and includes IFCOD Musical Production on day one, University TV Competition Grand Finale on day two and the Mater Class on day three. Lagos Fashion and Design Week (LFDW): October 25-28

Lagos Fashion and Design Week (LFDW) is an annual fashion event platform that is aimed at showcasing the latest African trends by Nigerian designers, the platform brings together both buyers, consumers from different parts of the world. The event is happening at the Federal Palace and is targeted at bringing Nigerian fashion to the rest of the world, thereby using fashion to boost the Nigerian economy.

Hennessy Artistry Concert: October 28

The Hennessy Artistry is an annual music competition, which has been going strong for 11 years. This year, the concert is set to take place on 28th of October 2017 at Transcorp Hilton Hotel will be featuring five top artists. The event will be followed by the concert in Lagos. The annual event aims to find a new music talent and merge Hennessy with music. Musicians such as M.I Abaga, D’Banj, Ice Prince, Tu Face, Banky W, Wiz Kid, Nneka, Tiwa Savage, Praiz, and Burna Boy are known to have participated in bringing the event to life.
