This year’s Ake Book and Arts Festival was packed with key players of art and literary society. From Nnedi Okorafor’s mentorship and writing session to talks on Afrofuturism and science fiction to celebrating the legendary Ama Ata Aidoo, the panel sessions at this year’s festival were lively, engaging and about female power.

With panel sessions like, Disrupting Culture: Women in Politics, Men who write Women, Talking Sexual Violence: Victims and Violation to mention a few, Ake Festival as it is fondly called, was filled with a plethora of guests like Adunni and Nefertiti, Aramide, Bisi Adeleye Fayemi, Kadaria Ahmed, Mona Eltahawy, Toni Kan, Haneefa Adam, Pumla Goqla, Jessica Horn to mention a few.
