Australian Actress Margot Robbie ‘Overwhelmed’ By First Oscar Nomination
Australian actress, Margot Robbie, said on Wednesday that she was excited and overwhelmed after receiving her first Oscar nomination for her portrayal of the American figure skate Tonya Harding in the film I, Tonya.
Robbie was in Sydney promoting the film to Australian audiences when she heard of her nomination while surrounded by family and friends. The dark comedy — which Robbie also produced — received three nominations, including the categories of ‘Supporting Actress’ for Allison Janney and ‘Best Film Editing’. Other actresses nominated in the Lead Actress category include, Sally Hawkins in “The Shape of Water”, Frances McDormand in “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri”, Saoirse Ronan in “Lady Bird” and Meryl Streep, “The Post.”
