Henry Cavill No Longer DC’s Superman
The DC comic universe is on fire!!!
Just kidding. Word has it that the DC cinematic universe is losing its man of steel.
Henry Cavill, who has played the heavy role of Superman in three films, is taking off his red cape and parting with Warner Bros.
The British actor, according to a report by The Hollywood Reporter, was being enlisted for a Superman cameo in the forthcoming Shazam! but contract talks on the role fell through.
Warner Bros. is not planning to make another standalone Superman film for a few years. However, it will be focussing on a Supergirl film.
Cavill has played Superman since DC kicked off its latest film universe in 2913 with Man of Steel. He also played a role in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League.
In other news, Superman may not be the only DC hero that is experiencing a drastic change. Ben Affleck may also be finding his own way too as the upcoming Batman film may feature a younger version of the character played by a different actor.
Even with Cavill gone, he will have a lot on his plate. He will be starring as Geralt of Rivia in Netflix‘s series adaptation of The Witcher.
