Literally!

Oscar-nominated actor and director Kenneth Branagh cemented his position in Hollywood on Thursday, October 26, with the coveted hand and feet ceremony at the TCL Chinese Theatre.

Branagh, who has been nominated for an Academy Award five times, received the honour as he begins promoting the Agatha Christie tale Murder on the Orient Express.

Branagh told Reuters:

“Frankly it never crossed my mind that it could happen to me. Also, you think about your mom and dad. They’d be so so chuffed. If they were alive, they’d be booking a trip every two weeks to come over and stand by the footprints, they’d be so chuffed, so a lot of nice things go through your head.”

Branagh first broke into Hollywood with his leading role in Henry V and since then has starred in numerous projects and has also directed blockbusters such as Disney’s live-action Cinderella and the Marvel Studios film Thor.

Murder on the Orient Express, which also stars Josh Gad, Leslie Odom Jr., Johnny Depp and Michelle Pfeiffer, sees Branagh not only back in the director’s chair but also starring in the lead role as the legendary sleuth Hercule Poirot.
