If you are a fan of horror, the supernatural or all things suspense, then The Nun might just interest you. The 97-minute thriller is a spin-off of 2016’s The Conjuring 2, and the fifth instalment in The Conjuring universe.
The 97-minute thriller stars Taissa Farmiga, Demián Bichir, and Jonas Bloquet.

In 1952 Romania, two nuns living at the Cârța Monastery are attacked by an unseen presence. The surviving nun, Sister Victoria, flees from the attacker and hangs herself by jumping out of a window. Her body is discovered soon after, by Frenchie, a man tasked with transporting supplies to the nuns.

The Vatican learns of the incident and dispatches one of its problem-solving priests, Father Burke, to investigate, along with young novitiate Sister Irene. Together they uncover the order’s unholy secret.

Risking not only their lives but their faith and their souls, they confront a malevolent force in the form of the same demonic nun that first terrorised audiences in The Conjuring 2, as the abbey becomes a horrific battleground between the living and the damned.

Filmmaker James Wan, the director of the record-setting horror hits The Conjuring and The Conjuring 2, explores another dark corner of that universe with The Nun. Directed by Corin Hardy (The Hallow), the new fright-fest is produced by Wan and Peter Safran, who has produced all the films in The Conjuring franchise. It was also written by Gary Dauberman.

The Nun was released in the United States on 7 September 2018 by Warner Bros. Pictures. So far, it has grossed over $141 million (N51 billion) worldwide and has received mixed reviews from critics. Check it out at Filmhouse Cinemas nationwide and be sure to let us know what you think about it.
