Review: Breakfast at Bistro 7
Have you ever had those days when you wake up really early to meet up an appointment and on your way there in this dreadful Lagos traffic, you find out it has just been cancelled? I had one of those! And seeing as I was already halfway through town, I thought I might as well treat myself to a nice warm breakfast. So at about 9 am, I stopped at Bistro 7 restaurant located at 273 Kofo Abayomi St, Victoria Island.
I was impressed to find the restaurant ready to serve so early, which is unexpected as most people are usually at work that early.
The restaurant décor is quite modern, with a large indoor and outdoor space decorated with plants and a few comfy looking chairs. They started off with some free bread and butter, and I must say, the bread was fantastic, soft, sweet, and crunchy on the outside and soft inside.
American Breakfast with extra hash browns
This combo comprises of two eggs, bacon, sausage (chicken or pork), potatoes and bread. I was craving some hash browns, which you can order on the side as an extra. Can I just talk about how perfect the bread was again? This has to be the best quality bread I have had in Lagos! You know that sweet, thick, fluffy bread? Almost like gourmet agege bread.
The eggs were slightly runny, which I don’t mind but they didn’t ask because other customers could have preferred it well done. The pork sausage was another great thing about the meal. It wasn’t the usual small sausage you find, it was the really big (American) kind. Finally, the hash browns were also not the regular English type I’m accustomed to, it had some parsley herbs which came out really delicious! I had the meal with a nice glass of freshly-squeezed orange juice, which was nice and not too sweet.
Overall, I found it quite relaxing as I sat in a secluded area, a small white room, which could be a nice loner spot or perfect for a date.
