Exfoliating can be a chore sometimes, especially when you have to go to the supermarket to look for products that suit your skin. If you need to exfloliate at home, here are some easy ways you can do this in the comfort of your home.

Baking Soda

The main component of baking soda is sodium bicarbonate which is also the main ingredient for many face masks and exfoliation products. Rubbing a tablespoon of baking soda on the face in circular motion and rinsing with liquid natural soap is one of the best things you can do for your face.

Sugar

This may seem strange to some people but sugar is a very good source of glycolic acid. Glycolic acid increases the rate of new cell production and breaks down proteins in dead cells to keep them from latching on to the skin. Pure sugar crystal work best, especially when they are mixed with natural oils.

Oatmeal

Oatmeal is very gentle with its exfoliant properties so it is ideal for sensitive skin. It has natural anti-inflammatory properties and is very moisturising in nature. Simply mix finely ground oatmeal with honey or yoghurt and apply to the face.

Honey

Honey is a truckload of properties that works well for the skin. It is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral. This means that it does a good job of killing skin infections and germs. Simply mix it with any of the other exfoliants written above to boost its antioxidant effects.
