Feeling laid back on your time? Let’s help you put a structure around it. Below are useful time management hacks that you will be glad you read! They will not only put a good structure around your time management level, they will also increase your productivity level and leave you a better person than you were. Let’s get started!

  1. Prioritize It

Focus on ONE Important TASK and Work on It Today. Take note of the highlighted words-they are the key words. Do you have 2016 goals you set at the beginning of the year? It’s already 2nd half of the year and you haven’t achieved so much out of it, or maybe you haven’t even achieved any at all, check your priorities. Don’t let the major goals be at the mercies of your trivial needs. Don’t use the money meant for your skill acquisition to gratify material needs. Opportunity meets those who are prepared at time it presented itself. Do the necessary and soon enough, you will have more to make life more comfortable for yourself.

  1. Plan Your Day From Home

Prioritize your working day before you leave home in the morning. Your To Do list may be endless. Choose your top five tasks for the day, prioritize them, and work on them in order of priority. If you’re not sure what to work on next, ask yourself what your top priority is in the moment.

  1. Turn Big Goals Into Small Daily Tasks

You can’t “do” a goal-you can only do tasks that will lead to achieving a goal. You had to sit in for daily lectures, take quarterly exams and repeat process yearly- before you got a degree certificate. In other words; you didn’t waltz into the ‘Uni’ and demand for a cert immediately. Little-little drops of water, makes the mighty ocean. Decide on your highest value goal, and work on an important task that heads towards achieving it. You want to pass an MBA? Start inquiring about the stakes now. You want to be a successful business man? Start reading books written by successful business men. You want to buy a car? Start dropping little savings already and little-little drops of your task everyday will soon make your mighty ocean!

  1. Set a Deadline for Every Project.

Deadlines are essential. If someone else sets your deadlines, try setting your own deadline before the official deadline, it will help improve on how early you are able to meet up—and definitely impact on your ability to deliver on and exceed expectation!

  1. If Someone Else Can Do It, Delegate It!

Do a check of how much your time is worth per hour in a day, in terms of; Dollar, Pounds or Naira at least.  Time management becomes easier if you know what an hour of your time is worth. If your time is worth $500 an hour, it’s useful to know that the 30 minutes you spent on social media is worth $250. Examine all the tasks you complete each day, and decide which ones you shouldn’t be working on. For instance, it takes 3 hours of your precious time to get your laundry done every week, perhaps you could outsource to a dry cleaner, and so on and forth!

Try these time management hacks. They’re real, and they work. You’ll be amazed at how much more you can do. Goodluck!!!
