It is the turn of the people of Ikorodu in Lagos State to experience undiluted fun, as the mega comedy show, Glo Laffta Fest currently touring the nation hits the town today.

The comedy show, which hit Ibadan for a second time last Sunday, has taken some of the continent’s best known humour merchants, such as Basketmouth and Bovi, across Nigeria in the last 18 weeks, giving Nigerians beautiful memories.

Today, Ikorodu takes the centre stage, as more than a dozen comics would take turn to entertain fun lovers. Comedians expected to perform include, Helen Paul, Bash, Kenny Black, Salvador from Uganda, Acapella, Gordons and Basketmouth.

The fest holds at the Ikorodu Musical Village by 1pm. Some of Nigeria’s celebrated thespians, such as Odunlade Adekola, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Mama G and Mr. Latin are expected to grace the occasion.

Two television divas, Uche Jombo and Ebube Nwagbo, will anchor the show. “We are taking the fun to the heart of Ikorodu today. The people of this city would enjoy themselves like they have not done before. The experience will be simply breath-taking,” Globacom said in a statement from its head office in Lagos on Friday.

One of the performers, Basketmouth urged the people of Ikorodu to expect ‘a pleasant surprise,’ as he is coming fully prepared for them. Another of the accomplished comedians, Godwin Komone, popularly known as Gordons, said it would be a day to remember in Ikorodu.

To attend the show, Glo subscribers are expected to use up to N2,000 credit within one month and text LOL with the location name to the short code 240; for example, “LOL Ikeja” to 240. Subscribers who do not meet this criterion, but wish to attend the show are requested to go to the event venue with N2000 to purchase airtime for their own use. They will then be entitled to a ticket.

After Ikorodu, the show moves to FESTAC, before going to other locations like Suleja, Kano, Anyigba, Lokoja, Port Harcourt, Onitsha, Makurdi and Ajah.
