NAS Makes Debut On Forbes Highest Paid HipHop List
Packed up with newcomers in the hip-hop industry Nas (Nasir Olu Dare Jones) for the first time almost three decades since his debut album, at the age of 44 makes the list of Forbes Hip-Hop cash kings.
For an artist who was not keen on business investments, seemingly more comfortable with rapping about African history, pulling in a career best of $35million in all, Nas shares the number six spot on the list with Dr Dre.
“I was a music guy for years and then all of a sudden, it’s like I hit an age….. I guess it was just the age or just wisdom”, Nas explained.
He making the list was as a result of his cut from the sale of rings- a smart door maker to Amazon- and his involvement/investment with Mass Appeals which he helped revive in 2013, making him a co-owner.
Not to exclude his shows, a Hennessey endorsement and Queensbridge venture founded by him which either through it or angel investing has ended with stakes in dozens of Startups.
