Ahead of their wedding, Prince Harry and fiancee, Meghan Markle, has chosen a lemon elderfellow cake to be made by London-based American pastry chef Claire Pta, the couple said on Tuesday.

According to a statement released by the Kensington Palace, the prince’s official residence in London,

“It will be covered with buttercream and decorated with fresh flowers”. It also said that the couple are “very much looking forward to sharing this cake with their wedding guests.”

Meanwhile, Ptak has expressed enthusiasm. She said,

“I can’t tell you how delighted I am to be chosen to make Prince Harry and Ms. Markle’s wedding cake… Knowing that they really share the same values as I do about food provenance, sustainability, seasonality and most importantly flavour, makes this the most exciting event to be a part of”, she said in a statement.

Ptak is a food writer, recipe developer and consultant, as the owner of “Violet bakery” in east London.
