Walking into City View in Abuja was a new experience for me, as it was my first time dining alone. Located at Plot 2407, 7 Capetown Street, Wuse, Abuja, the ambience of this restaurant was built with giving you the ultimate dining experience. Space is simply lit by hanging lanterns, with wooden architecture and an overall structure that makes you feel like you’re in a hut. The sitting arrangement also has couples and group guests in mind.

One thing I love about restaurants is getting good service. As soon as I entered, a waiter walked me to a table and showed me the menu. When I placed my order, he was honest about the meal I was getting and was quick to deliver as well.

Beef burger, fries and coleslaw.

I had the chicken wings for starters and for my main meal I had the beef burger (accompanied by fries and a side of coleslaw) and Chapman. The chicken wings were really good, soft, properly spiced (like the season went to the bone), the only problem was the small size of the wings. The chicken wings came in the middle of a pitta, which was good for the arrangement but didn’t really add to the meal. I ate the chicken wings differently and ate the pitta with the garlic dip which was amazing.

The beef burger was not as great as the chicken wings. It was okay but underwhelming. I don’t think the store-bought patty was fresh, as it had that old been-in-the-freezer-for-a-minute taste. The burger as a whole was good, the bread was really soft and the dressing was great. I could only imagine how much better it would have been if the patty was fresh. I didn’t enjoy the fries because it was soaked in oil and it wasn’t piping hot when it got to me.

Chicken wings

The star of the burger meal has to be the coleslaw. It was a lot, creamy and really nice. I think it had a hint of garlic and it was just great to have that much coleslaw with a generous amount of dressing. The Chapman made my throat itch, I don’t know the ingredients that made up this drink but it was a no for me.
I would definitely go back and have a proper chicken meal and most likely I’d have a better choice of drink.

Price
Chicken wings: 500
Burger: 2500
Chapman: 900
