See Nigerians Outrage To Saraki’s Senate Saga
The Guardian Nigeria, today reported that the Senate President Bukola Saraki’s residence was besieged by police officers earlier this morning before he was later allowed to leave to honour a police invitation from the head of the Inspector-General of Police Response Team (IRT) over the April 5 robbery in Offa.
In his absence, a group of senators planned to install a new senate president and here is how Nigerians have reacted to this shocking new development.
The senate president and deputy president denied freedom of movement? That’s nothing.
Remember that for 2 years now, radio and TV stations have been prevented from airing views critical of the president (aka hate speech). That is the real tyranny.

The sieges and any use of force on @BukolaSaraki, the legitimate Senate President or Ike Ekweradu, his Deputy are an act of desperation. #IStandWithSaraki and I urge you to do the same. If we allow what is currently being done to them to stand, we are in full blown dictatorship!

Rehabilitating Buhari is a big mistake. How you hand over democracy back to those who truncated?
For those who are silent just because their principals are in line, your whiplash is coming.
It is not about Saraki. This is about the Office of the Senate President. https://t.co/VyD5pAFFiz

Interestingly, the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, is yet to defect. Hate him or love him, he plays this game really well. https://t.co/jI3q0cLdQh

APC Senators are now being mobilized to the senate to kickstart the removal of Saraki and Ekweremadu as alleged. We won’t allow this madness to materialize. If there is ever a time to fight for Democracy it is now. If they can risk a revolution just to stay in power then be ready

There are so many ways to deal with Saraki when we had the chance, but what is happening today is just turning him to a hero, gaining sympathy for him. I dont know who came up with this plan but its a terrible one which if it fails, will have major consequences for us as APC.

Senator Saraki should go and answer his case. Police are not the judiciary. The court will decide his culpability or innocence. Defection is not equal to automatic victory at the polls. Nigerians will decide who wins next election.

I hold no brief for Bukola Saraki but a security show of force on one individual while the rest of us are wallowing in Insecurity is irresponsible and callous to say the least!

So you hound Saraki and get people to his side by your stupidity. Now you’ve lost 14 Senators, and more will follow as they realise the potential cost of having you around for another four years…
Daft.

The IG wouldn’t have the balls to block the Senate President from leaving his house. So then, the buck stops at @MBuhari ‘s table. All of these moves will start a cascade of events that even our Democracy would gasp for breath in the end.

14 senators just decamped, So now Pdp has the majority in the senate. 😂😂😂😂😂

For those of you supporting the attempted arrests/intimidation of your countries Senate President, senators and house of reps members ask yourself this- if they can treat federal elected representatives like common crooks, what will they do to ordinary people like me and you?
