Kimonos Are All The Rave
Kimonos started off as a traditional Japanese garment sewn by hand and worn for important festivals or formal occasions. The full-length robe is normally wrapped around the body and secured by a sash. The robe became a popular trend in 2014 and since then, both men and women have worn them in different stylish ways and for almost any occasion. From the beach to work, the kimonos have become a style staple all over the world.
Traditionally, kimonos were made of linen, silk and satin, but modern kimonos have added more versatility to this classic clothing item. Now you can find them in other materials like chiffon, lace and even ankara.
Some of the finest designers at Tokyo, Milan and Paris fashion weeks sent out models wearing printed kimonos, embroidered robes and flowing fringed caftans. Street style stars also rocked kimonos stylishly at the events. Not to talk of the kimono-pyjama set trend that we cannot get enough of.
