Makeup Starter Kit for Beginners
If you have made the decision to step your makeup game up but don’t want to waste money or oblivious on where to begin, then this is for you. You have to keep your makeup bag paired down to the essentials; this way you use everything you purchase and none of it goes bad.
The must-have items I’ve rounded up are easy for newbies to use plus, they are budget friendly.
Eyebrow pencil or pomade
Brows are essential to making any look, whether minimal or dramatic, look its best. Explore the different brow products and find the one that suites you. I suggest the Hegai & Esther Brow Definer if you like pomades or the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz if you like pencils.
A neutral eyeshadow palette
Eyeshadow Palettes are a basic essential to a good makeup bag. For beginners, I would recommend getting a basic everyday eyeshadow palette that is neutral in color so that it will go with a majority of your clothing choices. I suggest getting the Costal Scents Revealed Palette.
Mascara
Mascara is definitely an essential in my book. A good black mascara that will lengthen and add volume to your lashes. My favorite mascara is the Zaron Volumizing Mascara.
Foundation
A great foundation helps to even out your skin tone and gives it a flawless complexion. If you don’t want something as heavy as that, opt for a tinted moisturizer to even out your skin-tone. For a foundation, I suggest getting the MAC Studio Fix Fluid for its coverage. For a tinted moisturizer, get the Black Opal True Color Perfecting Primer.
Concealer
Concealer is important to have in order to awaken the under eyes and cover any blemishes from the skin. The L.A Girl Pro Conceal HD Concealer is the best I have tried.
Powder
You need powder to set your foundation and concealer; if you don’t set your face, your makeup won’t last long. You don’t need to wear so much; just a dusting will usually do. I recommend the MAC Blot Powder.
Lipstick
Any woman can wear lipstick; the key is finding the right shade for your skin tone. The perfect lipstick shade completes your look. For a beginner, I suggest starting with a nude lipstick like MAC Cosmetics ‘Vevlet Teddy’ or if you want to go for a bold lip, try out the House of Tara ‘Funke’ lipstick.
