The saying “Less is More” strikes a chord in all spheres of life as moderation is a channel to all things liberally done and enjoyed, leaving one to think of how to strike a balance between two extremes or similarities.

Ectomorphs; people with low/very low body fat and slender frames like myself have low fat as a less factor. As much as popular culture sees being skinny as a plus, some who are naturally skinny yearn for more in their body size through working out or adding weight that sometimes is not really needed. Skinny people turning to big t-shirts and generally figure unflattering outfits is an indicator of how much some with this less factor just yearn for that extra mass of which they lack.

Minimalism in fashion has to be one of the best style balances as it acts like a moderation compass for those who seek it. One thing ectomorphs need to understand is that in finding that extra effect, the search might just be within the reach of self-comprehension and in understanding your body type, you are more likely to be successful at finding out what works for that which you understand.

From a personal point of view, I have seen that minimalist style on my body type accentuates the beauty in that which I would have loved to conceal. I recall when I was big on adding weight and looking like a hunk just to look better in what I wore and the results of that were quite disappointing as I generally had a disproportionate form that flagged physical errors on my part. Even in putting on pieces with more mass, they always gave this drowning effect to my form that always indicated that I was “swimming” in the wrong pool. Then with further understanding of style and my body, I became more aware of the possibilities of looking stylish without looking lost and confused when I started blending minimalism with my Retro-Recent style preference.

The key thing to enjoying a style journey of pure/ upgraded minimalist style for ectomorphs is channelling what makes you comfortable in your skin. But confusing comfort as concealing one’s self is not usually the best point of call. Though most might think of minimalism as a style preference involving neutral tones only, it rather points to working with a few well chosen colour palettes with well structured pieces that aid in flattering one’s figure with an effortless air. For those who turn to all things oversized, turning instead to minimalism whether mixed with personal style preferences or done to the letter acts as a defense mechanism against body insecurities and for the opposing side who already feel good with their less factor, working with this style balance with your existing style preference on your body form gives you an added bonus to your personal style air and general perception.

At the end of the day, the effect lies in the exact less factor that some love and others hate. This goes to show that very little might just be what you need to get a style upgrade from 0 to 100! Minimalism and ectomorphs are simply like two extremes and similarities coming together to give each other an added extra. Although like everything else it might not be for all ectomorphs, still, it acts as a reminder that upgrading to a body form with a plus factor for a style well-being might not necessarily be the way to go.
