One Of The World’s Rarest Rolex Watches Set To Go Up For Auction
One of the world’s rarest watches, nicknamed “The Unicorn” has been put up for auction.
The Unicorn, a 1970 white gold Rolex Cosmograph Daytona reference 6265, is believed to be a one-off because, before it was discovered, manually-wound Rolex Daytonas were only available in stainless steel or yellow gold.
Initially, the owner of the watch, John Goldberger, refused to sell the timepiece. However, he changed his mind and listed it for sale to benefit the charity, Children Action, that works with vulnerable children around the world.
Set to be an extremely expensive watch, the white gold Rolex Cosmograph Daytona will go on sale at the Geneva auction house Phillips on May 12, 2018.
