Woman Crush Wednesday: Coco Chanel
Happy birthday Coco Chanel !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This woman literally saved women from wearing corsets for the rest of our lives. You have got to admit that our waists would just be awesome ( no need for waist trainers).
Coco is a style icon, goddess, queen and all the names that can be accorded to her. Born today August 19th, 1883 in Saumur, France she died on the 10th of January, 171 in Paris, France.
Chanel was raised in an orphanage and taught to sew. She had a brief career as a singer before opening her first clothes shop in 1910. In the 1920s, she launched her first perfume and eventually introduced the Chanel clothing line.
Her legacy still lives on, from her use of monochrome to her oversized ‘costume’ pearls and cuffs, suits and little black dresses everything is still continuously referenced.
As she said; “Fashion fades, only style remains the same.”
Since I am loco for all things Coco, she is #WCW this week.
What’s your favourite Chanel outfit, phrase, fragrance?
I want to know.
