Chocolates have been associated with love, sex and pleasure for quite a number of decades now. The high caffeine and antioxidant content coupled with its unique texture and taste make it a natural aphrodisiac perfect for the Valentine season.

However, chocolates aren’t the only food that has the ability to amp you up physically, emotionally and mentally for the season of love. Here are some other foods that can help stimulate the mood this season.

 

Olive Oil

The ancient Greeks had a special place for olive oil in their practice and culture. Commonly used as a cure for impotence at that time, olive oil contains a high concentration of monosaturated fats. This and other properties help olive oil increase blood flow, which results in more energy, circulation and potential for arousal.

The relationship between the Avocado and sexual health dates back to the days of the Aztecs.  The Aztec word for avocado is “ahuacatl,” which literally means “testicle”. The fruit has a high concentration of folic acid, vitamin E, vitamin B9 and vitamin B6 that increase energy and boost testosterone production. It’s no surprise that Spanish Catholic priests forbade their members from eating them at a time because they found them to be too sexy.
