Africa being the beautiful continent that she is, is host to quite a number of Islands that would be of interest to you if you seek one for a vacation.
Rodrigues Island, Mauritius: An autonomous outer island of the Republic of Mauritius and in the Indian Ocean. The Rodrigues Island enjoys two seasons which are specific to Rodrigues. Its hottest months are between January and March while the month of August is the coolest. Rodrigues cuisines are made up of dishes with local products ranging from fruits, vegetables, seafood and meat. The national dishes include sausages with kreolinės, rougaille sauce, octopus with curry, Azim salad and Rodrigues cake. With an extremely beautiful and calm environment and persistent trade winds blowing all through the year, it’s sure a great destination to try out.
Santo Antao, Cape Verde: Also known as “Sontonton” in Cape Verdean creole, this is the second largest Island in Cape Verde and the continent of Africa. Bathing beaches and fishing areas are found in near Tarrafal de Monte Trigo. The Island is said to be one of the most mountainous of Cape Verde. The island has a moderately dry tropical climate along the coast and a semi-arid mild tropical climate. Hiking, trekking and cultural tourism account for most of the tourist activities on the Island.
Praslin Island, Seychelles: This is the second largest island of the Seychelles. Praslin is known to be a tourist destination with seveal hotels and resorts as well as a number of beaches. It is substantially tropical with destination with tropical forest birds in the wild.
Nosy Be, Madagascar: Nosy Be meaning “big island” in the Malagasy language is the largest island and busiest tourist resort off the northwest coast of Madagascar. Nosy Be and the Madagascar host a habitat for notable number of Omura’s whale. Nosy Be has a tropical climate and it is mostly humid in summer. Nosy Be is the most developed tourism destination in Madagascar and this is the only place in Madagascar where all-inclusive large resorts can be found.
Zanzibar Island, Zanzibar: With Zanzibar Island off the coast of Tanzania is a breathtaking spot to escape from the world. Diving in the clear turquoise-blue water, wading in the shallow sandbars, and visiting small nearly deserted islands among others are activities to engage yourself in while at this amazing Island.
