Petronas Twin Towers

If you want to get a sense of what it feels like to be ‘on top of the world’, thisis the place to visit. This world famous 88- storey building is about 451m above street level and currently the world’s fifth tallest skyscraper. The two towers are linked at midpoint by a two-storey bridge, known as the ‘skybridge’, which also serves as a viewing platform. It’s a stretch of nine signature shopping malls from Bukit Bintang to Kuala Lumpur City Centre – hence the name.  Jalan Alor

If, like me, your favorite part of a trip is exploring what edibles the city has to offer and exercising your taste buds, then Jalan Alor is for you. The street, usually pretty quiet during the day, undergoes a total transformation at night and becomes a food court buzzing with the melodious sounds of sizzling food, clanging woks, hungry groups, and busy waiters. You can experience both local and foreign cuisine, as well as seasonal fruit from fruit carts along the road. Personally, I would visit for this reason alone.

Central Market, Chinatown and Little India

The cultural enclaves at Kuala Lumpur are a huge part of the many reasons why tourists love to visit. Central market is a pretty famous heritage landmark, styled to give off a 1930s feel. You can find all sorts of local arts and crafts as well as enjoy local delicacies along the Katsuri Walk. Chinatown is a busy cultural and shopping location, just down the road from the central market.  It boasts quite a number of temples, clan houses, and old buildings. Visit during their annual lantern parade or Chinese New Year celebration. During the annual Deepavali festival, you can experience the best of Little India which is already a pretty lively and colorful place to visit.

Aquaria KLCC

If you want to enjoy a unique aquatic experience without getting wet, then you should visit Aquaria at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. Aquaria is a state-of-the-art aquarium where you can observe over 5,000 exhibits of aquatic and land animals in a massive, multi-level space. You can discover the fascinating nature of aquatic life as well as the unique lifestyle of creatures that live above water from Asia’s tropical waters to the rainforests of the world, all incredibly diverse and a wonder to behold.
