Sometimes life could be very busy that we don’t even have time to take adequate care of ourselves. As we all know, one of those ways to take proper care of ourselves according to health practitioners is to regularly workout-as exercise is regarded as one of life’s necessity-if we must improve and sustain a healthy frame.

Perhaps you are a nursing mom–you have got lots in your hands–with baggy eyes as a result of sleepless nights…you are saddled with taking care of baby’s needs, doing house chores, cooking for the family, etc. You manage to make it out of the house with a shower and now workout? No way!

It is actually possible if you would let it. In life we create time for virtually everything. Most of the daily routines naturally occur to us and we don’t even need reminders. When it is time to bath or brush, we immediately get it done. When it is time for breakfast, lunch or dinner, we get up to get them done-some of these we willfully set reminders just so we don’t get carried away. This same applies to workouts. If you don’t create time, you have a million reasons why you can’t afford a workout just yet and procrastination is the offspring of no-plans at all.

According to Kim Summers, an ACE- certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor—these are some ways one can make workouts a possibility with those amazing busy schedules:

  1. Put Yourself on the Calendar

Every weekend sit down and set times to workout throughout the week. Pre-planning gives you time to make adjustments and make it work!

  1. Workout at the Park

The park is an outdoor gym waiting to be used! There is nothing like getting in some step-ups, tricep dips and push-ups at the picnic table. If you don’t have a nearby open park, then turn your house furniture a helpful handy gym. 30 mins push-ups repeatedly, will make a difference.

  1. Use a Fitness DVD

Especially with little ones, there are days when you just don’t make it out the door. Have a couple workouts DVDs that you like and can pop in during nap time.

  1. Create a 30-Minute, at-Home Workout

The unpredictability of the day sometimes presents little windows of opportunity that we don’t expect. When it does, be prepared with an easy workout scheme.

  1. Challenge the Kids

Kids like to do something “better” than mom! Set up an obstacle course in the yard or put on your helmet and “tour the neighbourhood”.

  1. Set Goals

Whether you want to get in 3 workouts this week or more, setting goals will keep you on track. Hang your note reminders next to your bed, or somewhere accessible, and get busy!

  1. Find a Gym with Childcare

If finding a sitter is what keeps you from working out, sign up at a gym that offers it.

  1. Invest in Your Shoes

Whether you are jogging, walking or taking a class, wearing the proper supportive shoes for the activity will help prevent unnecessary injuries.

Too Busy To Exercise? Get Creative!

Hope the above tips help, life sometimes just doesn’t give us that luxury of time, so we get up and make it happen-and just so you know, you have the most important job in the world and that’s to keep you fit and able. Know it, believe it, learn it and make it happen!
