The explosive music and arts festival Gidi Cultural Festival, popularly known as Gidi Fest, was held yesterday at Hard Rock Cafe beach front. The event saw major artistes like Wizkid, 2Baba, Tiwa Savage and Brymo shut down the event.

But how did this cultural festival come about?

Guardian Life met with the pioneers of Gidi Fest, Chinedu Okeke and Oriteme Banigo, popularly known as Chin and Teme, at the Eclipse Live office for a very interesting chat about their lives, work and the mystery behind the festival.

Watching the two men converse and relate dawned on us how two people with contrasting personalities can come together to achieve similar goals in a seamless fashion. While Chin is more expressive, jovial and outgoing, Teme has a calmer and more reserved demeanour to him. Still, the chemistry between them is effortless! It’s no surprise that they have been able to achieve so much in the short time that they have worked together.

Pick up a copy of Guardian Life tomorrow to read all the two founders had to say about the event that everyone was raving about yesterday.
