The Wife Of The President Mrs Aisha Buhari says there was the need for proper rehabilitation and Psychological Therapy for those women and children victims of the insurgency as a way of improving their living conditions.
Mrs Buhari in a Message to the 2016 international women’s Day noted that the situation in the country but particularly those areas ravaged by insurgency deserve special attention in order to boost the spirit and morale of the inhabitants especially women and children.
She said the worst victims were women who for their social and economic disposition could not accomplish certain obligations In “such difficult times ” especially in the northeast region.
 
The Wife of the President recalls with happiness the series of steps so far taken at different levels to command attention to the plight of women and children in particular areas like education, Health and other ventures that will promote their well-being.
 
Mrs Buhari said the theme for this years celebration “pledge for parity ” was very apt as such will challenge  world leaders to take actions with special emphasis on the dynamics of modern society in which women have proved their capacity in their fields of endeavor.
 
She commended Nigerian women for being steadfast in the struggle and also urged stakeholders and governments  at all levels to ensure proper empowerment of women to attain gender parity.
