The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has extended an invitation to international and national media organisations wishing to broadcast its activities live, in the build-up to the 2019 general elections.

The Commission has begun refurbishing its Media Centre, including two editorial suites for the convenience of media organisations willing to take advantage of the offer.

INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, spoke last Friday, at the 67th World Congress of the International Press Institute (IPI), which held at Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, where he said one international broadcast organisation recently approached the Commission to request for permission to set up facilities for live coverage of its activities.

He said: “I wish to extend our early invitation to, especially the international media that require longer time and logistics to prepare, that you are welcome to cover our 2019 general elections.
