Representative of Rivers South-East senatorial district, Magnus Abe, has been declared winner of the direct primaries for the state governorship position.

Announcing the result at the Peter Odike-led APC factional Secretariat, Chigbu Sam Eligwe, said Abe polled 144,129 votes to defeat other contestants.

He declared that Dumo Lulu-Briggs, who alongside with Abe stayed away from the Ojukaye Flag Amachree faction’s indirect primaries, polled 3, 444.

However, Dawari George and Tonye Cole, were said to have polled 1,606 and 882 respectively.

The Flag-Amachree faction was still sorting the result of the indirect primaries, which Tonye Cole look set to win as at press time.
