Adagunodo emerges chairman of Osun State PDP
The internal crisis rocking the Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) may not to be over yet as a faction elected state executives headed by Soji Adagunodo at its congress in the Osogbo Township stadium yesterday.
Besides, the faction had conducted council congress on Saturday, witnessed by a team from the National Secretariat, Abuja headed by Emmanuel Agbot.
Notable party leaders, except the Bayo Faforiji’s faction that is loyal to Iyiola Omisore attended yesterday’s congress.
All state officers elected about two years ago who were sacked by a court ruling were returned at the congress.
However, the Omisore’s group could not be reached for comment as at press time.
Officials of the independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) also witnessed the congress yesterday.
In his acceptance speech, Adagunodo promised to run an all-inclusive administration to place the party in a better position to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the September governorship election.
He, therefore, urged members of the party to work hard for the success of the party on all fronts.
