Meanwhile, legal icon and founder of Afe Babalola University (ABUAD), Ado-Ekiti, has called on well-meaning Nigerians to join him in his crusade to entrench quality and functional education, industry, service and character as well as discipline to the advantage of humanity thereby leaving the society better than they had met it.

Speaking at the commencement of operations at the 400-bed ABUAD Multi System Hospital in Ado-Ekiti, yesterday, Aare Afe Babalola (SAN), reiterated that if more well-to-do members of the society could channel their resources towards the establishment of quality universities and health facilities, there would be no earthly reason for anyone to send his children abroad for education or go to hospitals in foreign countries for medical care.

According to him, with the quantum of modern equipment in his nine-year old university and the state-of-the-art equipment at his multi-system hospital, which was commissioned on October 21, last year, the university has been rated as the number one private university in Nigeria by Webometrics while the hospital has been primed to provide quality health care that would put an end to outward medical tourism in Nigeria.

Babalola opened the doors of the hospital, which is managed by ABUAD and Aster DM Healthcare of Dubai to four days of procedures at discounted rates and free consultation with effect from yesterday till tomorrow.

The legal luminary who described himself as a fulfilled man as a result of the realization of his dreams said the hospital is open to the general public no matter the rung of the societal ladder they belong.
