Anambra to employ 10,000 youths
The Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency (ANSIPPA) has concluded plans to offer direct and indirect employment to over 10,000 youths in the state, the chairman of the agency, Igwe Cyril Enweze, has said.
The monarch stated this yesterday during a press briefing at Umuoji, adding that the agency has stimulated the creation of thousands of jobs by creating a convivial business environment in the state.
Igwe Enweze stressed that the agency was vigorously pursuing the drive for investments by Governor Willie and has attracted about $3.2b to the state in less than two years.
Noting that the ANSIPPA is a one-stop-shop that interfaces with investors regarding demands for approvals, permits, certificates, licences, and other documents, he said the agency ensures that queries are efficiently processed within a few days as against over 40 days in the past.
He commended Obiano for providing the right incentives for investment, especially a good security network and good governance, saying these measures cleared the impediments against investments.
According to him, the task before residents of the state is to assist in the effort to woo investors within Nigeria and in the diaspora to take advantage of opportunities in the state.
He said that Anambra is truly open for business, adding that more investment would create more jobs as well as enhance the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
