The 19-year-old daughter of All Progressives Congress (APC) councillorship candidate in Odi Olowo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Lagos State, Mr. Bode Adeosun, has been abducted by suspected kidnappers.

The girl identified as Bukola, it was learnt was abducted on Tuesday night around 9p.m. at Ilupeju area of the state, when she went to buy fish for her mother within the community.

It was gathered that the victim and her younger sister went on the errand. While her younger sister went to collect their balance from the fish seller, The Guardian learnt that the kidnappers, who came in a black Toyota Camry car, ordered the girl into their car, without some of the residents and passersby noticing and zoomed off.

Bukola’s younger sister, on coming out of the house where she went to collect the balance, thought her sister had gone back home, haven waited for her endlessly. She also went home only to find out that Bukola was not at home.

According to their father, “I was returning from a meeting when I received a phone call from my wife about my missing daughter. I rushed down home only to see crowd already gathered in my house, supporting my wife in the search of my daughter.

“After we returned home around 1:39a.m., I received a phone call from a strange person telling me that my daughter is in their custody and that I would hear from them once again. The person hung up his phone.”

The distraught father said: “It was then it dawned on me that my daughter had been abducted by kidnappers. Since then I have not heard from them. I don’t know what my daughter is going through in their hands now and my fear is that they may rape her.

“My daughter would in four days mark her 20th birthday, I don’t know what have befallen me. I hope this is not how my political opponents want to get at me, because they know they are going to lose in the forthcoming election.”

Mr. Kunle Ajayi, a resident said, “the abduction of the girl is strange to the community. We are appealing to the police to rescue the girl on time, so as not to be like the Epe students. I believe in God and the security agencies that the girl would be rescued. Sincerely they have not demanded for ransom, but we don’t want to take any chance. That is why we are calling on the state government to save her parents and rescue the girl.”

When The Guardian visited the victim’s house yesterday, some sympathizers were sighted thronging the premises to console her parents over the ugly incident. The matter was also said to have been reported at the Ilupeju police station.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole, said the girl was missing and the matter reported to the police and investigation is ongoing into the matter.
