Army cautions Kaduna residents on shooting exercise
The Depot Nigerian Army is to conduct a shooting exercise for its 77 regular recruits at Falgore Forest Base Camp along Tudun Wada-Falgore-Saminaka Road bordering Kano in Kaduna State.
Consequently, it warned residents of the affected villages to steer clear of the areas where the drill is holding.
The depot’s Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Lt. Adekunle Adeyemi-Akinyele, in a statement yesterday stated: “The recruits of 77 Regular Intake would be having their final bush exercise, nick-named “Exercise Kungama’’ from September 17 to 30, 2018 at Falgore Forest Base Camp along Tudun Wada-Falgore-Saminaka Road.”
He added: “The exercise will involve firing of live ammunition using small arms and artillery guns. The authorities have put in place safety precautions to ensure a safe and hitch-free operation.
“Residents of Tudun-Wada, Falgore village, Kwanar Dan Gora and Dakatsalle in both Kaduna and Kano states are advised to go about their daily activities without panic.’’
