Atiku, others remember Coomassie at Fidau prayers
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Ogun State governor, Gbenga Daniel, were among dignitaries who visited Katsina State yesterday for the third-day Fidau prayers of the late Ibrahim Ahmadu Coomassie.
Coomassie, a former Inspector General of Police (IGP) and Chairman, Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), died last Thursday after a brief illness at the age of 76.
Former Adamawa State governor, Murtala Nyako and former Head of Service, Yayale Ahmed also attended the prayers.
Atiku was accompanied by Daniel, who is Director General of his campaign team, while Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima, chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), Musiliu Smith; former chief of Army staff, Lt. General Luther Agwai, and founder of Al Iqma University in Kwara State, Raheem Oladimeji were cited at the event.
Others who thronged the GRA residence of the late Coomassie were representatives of Eleko of Eko, Oba Rilwanu Akiolu, led by Adesoji Obanikoro, among others.
